The new entrance to the Australian War Memorial reimagines the visitor journey at one of the nation’s most significant cultural institutions.
At its heart sits the Oculus—a striking bronze-clad structure inspired by the Hall of Memory’s dome. Its bespoke glazing softly diffuses daylight into dynamic patterns of light and shadow, encouraging moments of reflection and pause.
To complement this natural effect, iGuzzini Laser Blade XS downlights are discreetly integrated into the channel around the Oculus, providing seamless, low-glare illumination. In the adjoining reception and conference areas, iGuzzini Laser Blade XS Mains Voltage Trackspots deliver precise, adaptable light, enhancing the visitor experience while respecting the solemnity of the space.
