The newly completed Parramatta Police Station at 95 Marsden Street provides state-of-the-art facilities that support the operational needs of staff within the Parramatta Local Government Authority.
The building’s façade, composed of solid aluminium panels in a Rust Patina finish, is complemented by a patterned glass screen at ground level representing abstracted DNA sequences. A subtle reference to the forensic precision of modern policing. Its overall form echoes the architectural rhythm of the historic post office opposite, blending civic gravitas with refined contemporary detailing.
Lighting plays a crucial role in revealing the building’s strong linear composition and material richness. iGuzzini Underscore InOut traces the vertical architectural edges in a staggered rhythm, while Linealuce 47 delivers a continuous wash of light that accentuates the depth and texture of the sandstone base. Together, these luminaires animate the façade after dark, reinforcing the building’s civic identity through a balance of light, shadow, and tone.
